Transformer oil filter (also known as insulating oil purification equipment) is mainly used to remove moisture, gas, impurities and acidic substances from transformer oil, and restore the insulation performance and chemical stability of the oil. The following are common transformer oil filter equipment types and their functions:
- Principle: Remove moisture, gas and particulate matter from oil through a combination of heating, vacuum dehydration, precision filtration and other technologies.
- Features:
- Efficient dehydration and degassing (water content can be reduced to ≤5ppm, gas content ≤0.1%).
- Multi-layer filtration (such as particle filtration accuracy of 1~5μm).
- Suitable for deep purification of high-voltage transformer oil.
- Typical applications: new oil treatment, operating oil regeneration, transformer maintenance.
- Principle: Pressurize the oil through filter paper or filter membrane to remove mechanical impurities and a small amount of moisture.
- Features:
- Simple structure and low cost.
- Filtration accuracy depends on the filter material (usually 10~30μm).
- Unable to remove dissolved water and gas.
- Typical applications include coarse filtration and impurity removal during transformer maintenance.
- Principle: Use centrifugal force to separate denser water and solid particles in the oil.
- Features:
- No filter material is required; simple maintenance.
- Good effect on free water and large particles, but not on dissolved water.
- Typical application: preliminary treatment of oil with high water content.
- Principle: Use the coalescing filter element to merge tiny water droplets into large water droplets, and then discharge them through the separation layer.
- Features:
- Efficient removal of free water (up to ≤50ppm).
- Suitable for treating oil with severe emulsification.
- Typical application: treatment of transformer oil with high water content.
- Principle: Adsorbents (such as silica gel, activated alumina) are used to remove acidic substances, colloids and polar impurities in the oil.
- Features:
- Can reduce the acid value of the oil (KOH ≤ 0.03mg/g).
Some equipment is equipped with a vacuum dehydration function.
- Typical application: Regeneration of aged oil.
- Principle: Combination of vacuum dehydration, precision filtration, adsorption regeneration and other technologies.
- Features:
- Integrated design can remove moisture, gas, impurities and acidic substances at the same time.
- High degree of automation, suitable for large transformer maintenance.
- Typical application: All-round purification of ultra-high voltage transformer oil.
- Principle: Installed in the transformer oil circulation system, real-time monitoring and filtering of oil.
- Features:
- Continuous operation without shutdown.
- Usually equipped with sensors (water content, particle size monitoring).
- Typical application: long-term oil quality maintenance of key transformers.
- Processing capacity: 1000~15000L/h (selected according to the transformer oil volume).
- Purification indicators: moisture, gas content, breakdown voltage (≥60kV), acid value, particle size (NAS level 6 or below).
- Additional functions: automatic temperature control, PLC control, acetylene removal, etc.
- New oil treatment: remove impurities and moisture mixed in during transportation and storage.
- Inspection and maintenance: transformer installation, oil purification before oil change.
- Fault recovery: regeneration of damp or slightly aged oil.
According to the degree of oil contamination (such as trace water content, acid value, particle number) and transformer voltage level (such as 500kV or above requires higher accuracy), a suitable oil filter combination can be selected. For severely deteriorated oil, it may be necessary to use a vacuum oil filter and adsorption regeneration equipment in combination.
